How i started
So how did I start?
In my late teens, during my failed job search, a friend told me about her father is beads importation business, it sounded interesting to me, I asked her if she would introduce me to her father, that memory will forever be in my head, i got to volunteer time for Beads, he was like ok, sounds like a plan. during my hours there i noticed people would buy beads and ask if I could turn them into necklaces for them. i agreed and they would pay me for my work. long story short it all started there two pairs of earrings, into necklaces and then progressed into bridal jewelry and the entourage, eventually i started getting word of mouth and i still remember the first new anchor I dressed jewelry exclusively the late Rosemary Nakabirwa ,I still remember Julie Turiatemba special lady who introduced me to the cooperate world, back home women dressed to impress, this worked in my favor I enjoyed making extra bit of money on the side and always wanted to pursue an entrepreneurial path.my Dream has always to be able to make my own metal jewelry in a foreign country and here we are today.
although it dnt happen overnight it took me about five years before I could really make this a reality, I had a lot of trial and era a lot of asking and searching till I found the right tools and the right metals and suppliers Then I found out about a metal called “gold fill.” Gold filled metal has an outer layer of 12K or 14K solid gold and the base layer is copper/brass. Gold fill is 5% solid weight in gold. Sounds like a small percentage, but it makes a load of difference. With care, gold fill jewelry can last for years. And here i am are today. I hand make almost everything right here in California.
Thanks to this gift I get to create the things I love and also raise and support our family of 6
Your support allows me to do what I love. Without our lovely customers, we would not be here.
